Commercial Pilot – Airplane

Starting at just $32,775.00 *

By attaining your commercial pilot certificate, you are ready to be paid to do what you love.

The commercial pilot license is not only the point at which you become a professional pilot but also the license that takes the longest to attain. The Cessna Pilot Center commercial pilot course is available at Cessna Pilot Centers such as Ocean Aviation Flight Academy. As an FAA Approved Flight Academy, we can slice sixty hours off your training. While most flight schools must complete your commercial training with 250 of total flight time, Ocean Aviation has been approved by the FAA to complete your training in 190 hours. This saves you time and dollars when you chose Ocean Aviation Flight Academy.

Our Aircraft

Ocean Aviation will have our Cessna 172 Skyhawks available for all training. Additionally, our PA-28R-200 Piper Arrow will be available for the complex training required in the commercial course. All Ocean Aviation aircraft are maintained to FAA Part 141 standards.

Ready to Get Started – Here Is What You Will Need

The FAA Commercial License is a license issued by the Federal Aviation Administration, which allows a pilot to fly for hire or compensation. Your training will include flying higher powered, more complex aircraft. In order to earn a commercial license, you must possess a private pilot certificate, and complete both a knowledge test and a practical flight test.

Prior to enrolling in our commercial pilot program, you must have at least a private pilot certificate, a current biennial flight review, and a current medical certificate. You should have a minimum of 70 hours logged flight time prior to enrolling. If your biennial flight review is not current, we can complete that prior to enrollment. If you are not an American citizen, you will also need to complete a TSA screening process. We can guide you through that process!

Once TSA screening is complete and your medical/student pilot certificate is issued, you can enroll in our Part 141 commercial pilot course.

Enrollment in our Cessna commercial course includes being listed with Cessna in our program, acquiring all your course material which includes your new flight bag and meeting your instructor and the staff for the first time. ** Commercial Pilot Requirements**

  1. You must be at least 17 years old to acquire the rating.
  2. You must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  3. You must possess at least a third-class FAA medical examination. You will require at least a second-class medical certificate to exercise your privileges as a commercial pilot.
  4. You must pass the written aeronautical knowledge test.
  5. You must pass a practical flight test.
  6. You must receive flight training from a certified flight instructor.

Let the Learning Continue.

The Federal Aviation Administration, under part 141 of the Federal Aviation Regulations, has set the minimum time for an applicant to obtain a commercial certificate at 190 hours. If you have already achieved your private pilot certificate with instrument rating, chances are you already have close to half of the hours required. Choosing the right schedule is up to you.

Training will be conducted under FAA Part 141. Ocean Aviation reserves the right to train students under Part 61 should the student not maintain standards.
